Los Angeles Dating Scene

I don't know if things are going to work out with Julianna. I have had a few dates with her so far and I think the next step is for me to go over to her place to watch a movie or something and then have sex with her and maybe spend the night etc. The problem I am facing right now is more of a moral dilemma. I think I might get bored of her. I said in my last few entries that I thought I should return to my roots and that I should hook up with someone who was not from LA. I said I should be on the lookout for a wholesome down to Earth girl but now that I have actually found someone like that I am not sure if that is what I want anymore. I feel myself changing more and more every week that passes by. There is something very infectious about living and working in Los Angeles. I think I am starting to fall in love with this city. I understand what Jim Morrison loved so much about this city now. The other thing I think I have been doing wrong is that I think I need to find someone who is older than me. I don't think I have the maturity of a 24 year old, I think I am somewhere up in the 27-28 year old range. I certainly make more money and have a higher profile job than 99% of the 24 year olds living in the USA.

Right now the only girl I am talking to is Julianna. She wants me to come over to her place this weekend so if I am going to break things off with her before anything heavy happens, it has to happen this week. This is very similar to the feeling I get when I have to fire someone. I absolutely hate it and I always put it off until the last minute. Last night I went through the online dating site and I sent out about 30 messages all to women who were between 27 and 30 years old. So far I have only got back one response but then again it was Saturday night and now it's sunday and most people are sleeping in and I am not sure how many girls will be going online to check their messages in a hurry if you know what I mean but I am going to be diligent about this and I really want to see if my suspicions are correct, I want to see if I will be able to relate to older women better than the younger ones I have dated so far. I am sure that on an intellectual basis we will be on the same page, I am just not sure if we will gel other than that. I may still be too socially immature for them to handle but time will tell.

There are a lot of awesome restaurants in this city that I still haven't been to yet but I really want to go to. What would really be cool is if I could get some action back on these older women and take them to these restaurants and try out my newly acquired skills on them. One place is italian and it's called Firenze Osteria and it's in North Hollywood. I love that area it is so full of vibrant people. The other place is called "Craft" and it is the new creation by Tom Colicchio and it has East Coast gourmanderie. He was a judge on “Top Chef”. The place has a huge dining room and the decor is awesome from the pics that I have seen. I also really want to go whale watching in Newport and there are all the cheesy attractions in LA that I haven't gone to, in fact I really haven't explored too much of LA because I am always working so hard and I haven't met that many celebrities because I don't watch that much TV so I don't really recognize them too often. I will post again here on this blog and hopefully I will have something more interesting to say next time, hopefully I will be telling you all about a date I went on with an older woman

I have completely given up on trying to date fruity typical Los Angeles women. What I have been doing for the past couple weeks is going through and deleting the girls that I know are totally not my type and instead I went through the online dating site and I used the search function to find girls that may be more my speed. I found some girls that had just moved here from small cities and towns etc as well and I thought that was very cool because I was like wow I can totally relate to these women. That is exactly what happened and because of this new approach, I now have 7 different girls that I am talking to on a regular basis. I have already been out on a few dates and they have gone pretty well so far. I know that I am supposed to be embracing my new life and part of me feels like I am taking the easy way out and that this is all going to backfire and eventually bite me in the ass but I don't care because the last couple weeks have been great and I have had a great time spending time with women that understand me for who I really am, or who I really was, or I dunno how to explain it anymore. Let me just tell you about a date I went on last week with this girl named Julianna.

She is 23 years old and last year she moved to Los Angeles from Nebraska. She has a relative here, her uncle actually, that is in the movie business. It is not like he is a director, or an actor, or a producer or anything but he works in food services and basically he operates the company that caters food to all the sets. They do tv shows and also lots of movies. So she got a job working for him in his office. She basically is the head administrator so she has a pretty easy job but she has a lot of stuff to juggle at once. She sometimes has some interesting stories from work but mainly they are all kind of boring and she spends a lot of time inside, just sitting at a desk dealing with phone calls. I told her that we should get together for coffee because I have drawn the conclusion that taking a girl out to dinner right away is a bad idea and that things will probably work out better if you just do coffee. The way I see it and what I do now is that I take them out for coffee and see if there is any chemistry and if there is then I transition the date from coffee into dinner. The only problem with this strategy is that usually when you invite someone to coffee, they don't come dressed ready to go to a nice restaurant after so the dinner needs to be kind of casual.

I told her to meet me at 3pm at this cool coffee place here in LA called Cafe Stella. It is really cool inside and there are a lot of hipsters and cool looking people inside. I got there at 3:10 because I didn't want to arrive early and then be sitting there like a tard waiting for her looking all weak and shit. That is also part of my new strategy. I arrive a bit late so that I have the upper hand. We sat and drank coffee and talked for a while. She was very cute and funny. I felt like there was some chemistry there and she didn't seem anxious to leave or anything (i hate when that happens, it is oh so obvious) so I asked her if she wanted to grab a bite to eat and she was like sure so we we finished up and then hopped in a taxi and headed over to this cool Jamaican place called Derrick's Jamaican Cuisine just south of Ladera Heights. I don't mind Caribbean food and I like the jerk chicken they make there. She liked the place and said that we should order some beers so we grabbed some beers and drank those and talked until the place closed which was 1am. We then headed to her place in a taxi and I managed to give her a kiss. I think the night went really well, that was Saturday and I haven't heard back from her yet but I think she is busy.

I met this girl named Karen online through the dating site. She is your typical LA girl and I think the only reason she is attracted to me is because she found out what I do for a living. At first she was kind of hesitant but I have been dropping the fact that I have this big fancy job and stuff because let's face it, women are attracted to that kind of stuff I have learned. We spoke on the phone and she is very bubbly and outgoing. I am much more low key than her and I thought maybe together it would be a good balance. I tried to explain some stuff about my growing up but she really couldn't relate to her. I don't think I have anything in common with this girl at all but she was very hot and I was up for the challenge. She told me on the phone that she had this craving for Ethiopian food even though she had never eaten at an Ethiopian restaurant before and I was like um ok.

So I picked her up in my beemer at 7pm out front of her apartment building. There were a few shady looking characters fumbling around the front of the building and I was umm what kind of girl am I hooking up with. Then again real estate is expensive in LA so what is a girl going to do. She finally came out and OMG she was hot but I was like wow I am way out of my league here. She hopped in and we went off to Messob Ethiopian Restaurant. It was the only Ethiopian restaurant I could find in the area. What a disaster that turned out to be. We ordered drinks and both ordered some food. When the food came, I looked at mine and it smelled great and she looked at hers and was like this stuff looks gross I am not eating it, let's go somewhere else I was like umm ok. I had no idea what to do, I just wanted to make her happy because I was so nervous about the whole situation.

We left there and headed over to Angelini Osteria Restaurant which is an Italian place she told me about. In my hed I was like whatever I don't care I am just super hungry. I had Breaded Veal Chop and she had Lamb of some kind. Finally she stopped talking and we could eat. I don't think I have ever eaten a meal that nice so fast lol. I was happy to be done dinner so the food could digest and I could return to planet Earth. All the booze I had drank up to that point was messing me up without food in my system. Basically when dinner was over we left and I just started driving back to her place to drop her off. I wasn't expecting anything from her and I really could care less because I couldn't stand her personality and the whole night was a nightmare I thought. When we got to her place, she gave me a quick kiss on the lips, said thanks for the night, never apologized for the dinner fiasco and got out. I was like, I am glad that is over and from now on I am going to stay away from typical LA women and I am going to start looking for down to earth girls.

Hi y'all, I am back. There was an emergency in our China office and I had to fly there to put out the fire. I decided to remove my online profile until I got back because I didn't want any girls messaging me and then I wouldn't be able to take them out because I am in China. Now that I am back, I can continue the process and continue to write in this blog. While I was in China I didn't meet any girls because I spent 16 hours per day in the office and then 8 hours of sleeping. Also I didn't speak the language and really there was no time for fun and games.

I am starting to adapt to this new lifestyle. I find it interesting how people treat me now that I dress nice and drive a nice car. Only a few people are able to recognize my accent. I have been going to an acting/voice coach to help me get rid of my accent altogether. I know I am probably going to get some flack from the folks back home but hey I doubt they even read this blog and I don't plan on heading back there any time soon. I like my new life.

Once I am done with this blog entry I am going to put my profile back up and then spend some time looking through the site at all the various girls and figuring out which ones I want to message. What else can I tell you right now? I bought some new pots and pans for my place. I never realized how much stuff people need, I was so used to living with my pa in our old house where we already had everything we needed. It IS nice to buy nice shiny new high quality stuff though. Oh, I also bought a new 50" LCD tv. I never watched much tv growing up so it has been a nice treat. Also I think I need to take it easy on how hard I am driving my BMW because I can already see the back tires are kind of getting worn

I have had to fire 10 people since I last made this blog entry. Luckily I watched the movie Up in the Air with George Clooney so I was more prepared with how to deal with firing people. I am still not sure what to make of being in management. Sometimes it is great and sometimes people just give me a headache and I feel like I am a parent or a babysitter. I hate hearing about people's personal problems. I have still not mastered how to interrupt people and get them out of my office so they do not suck my time. I also had no idea how much formal bullshit there is in a large company. There are so many procedures and formalities that seem to get in the way of productivity. Anyways I am ranting but in the end I am really grateful for my new life and I just need a woman to share it with so I am going to push hard to meet some women next week.

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog. I have finally finished my online profile. I have changed it about 10 times now. I decided to be more subtle about my job because I do not want to be attracting any gold diggers. I figured I could get into more detail once we meet in person and I know that I am dealing with a sincere individual. I put in my profile that I am a bit shy and that I am looking for a really sweet girl. I do not care if she is a student or if she is a working woman. I really have no idea what kind of girl I am looking for. Part of me thinks I might better off with a girl that is very average and modest. On the other hand I was also thinking that maybe what I need is a modern working girl. Maybe I need someone who is very corporate and intelligent. The reason I say this is because I could learn things from her how to deal with this new world I am living in and not have to rely on Francois.

I have never been around gay people before but he seems to be very nice and friendly and isn't a dick like most of the guys that I have met and that work for me. I have been introduced to a few of his gay friends and they seem nice as well. Today I went with Francois for lunch as a way of repaying him for all his hard work lately and then after that he took me shopping and I bought some new Gucci shoes. He told me that my appearance is very important now and I have been doing a lot of shopping so that I have multiple things to wear each week.

So yes, I have made my online profile but I haven't actually sent any messages out to any girls. I need to find some time and browse through the site and then send off some messages. I am kind of nervous about doing this and I am really not sure what to say to them. I think I need to talk to Francois some more about this and get some suggestions from him. I should have more to report soon. Back to work for now. I am supposed to fire 3 people this afternoon and that is something I have never done before. I am very nervous about it and I feel bad that I need to be the one to deliver the news.

My name is Curtis and I am 24 years old. I just moved to the big city of Los Angeles 2 months ago. It is a big adjustment coming from a small town in Nebraska. I grew up on a farm and all I have known up to this point in my life is farming, family, and physics. I always had me a liking toward mathematics when I was a kid and I guess I just see the world differently than most folks when it comes to numbers. Pa said I was born under a lucky star and that one day I would make him proud by moving to the big city and get me a nice job, find me a nice woman and get me a house. All of those things are coming true now that I have come to LA expect the part about a woman. I really feel overwhelmed by this whole place and especially by the women that here. I have a job working for a computer security company as their head of digital security and I work in a place with a lot of other people who make a lot of money but they are all older than me. None of them seem to be very happy about a 24 year old from Nebraska replacing a 49 year old executive.

I feel like a fish out of water but I am trying to enjoy myself. When I negotiated the terms of my employment I told them that they would have to give me a car as well and they said if I came to work for them they would buy me any car I wanted so I got myself a BMW M3 in black. I may have been living on a farm but we do have internet access there and I have for some reason always loved this car so when they said they would buy me one I was so happy. I am eager to prove myself at work so that people will look at me different. I have my own receptionist and he is a gay man named Francois. He has helped my image by taking me clothing shopping and got me a fancy downtown haircut but I am still really shy when it comes to approaching women. This is why I decided I would join an online dating site and use it to meet girls here in southern California that I can get to know first and find out if they would be interested in a shy, hick, guy like myself who works in a high profile job and is new to all this.

I also wanted to create a blog and use it as a journal for my new life here in Los Angeles so the folks back home can follow my adventures. I would also like to include this in my autobiography which I will no doubt write one day. I am going to go through the website tonight and see what the girls look like. It should be interesting to see what kinds of girls I will find. I think it is going to be easier for me to meet girls using this website that it will be trying to interact with them in real life. I am surrounded by all of these hot girls and I am now the boss of 217 employees of which at least 40 of them are women. I am still struggling to cope with all this responsibility. I didn't realize that I was going to have to be managing people. This has nothing to do with numbers or cracking codes. I have no experience in this and it is painful to learn it on the go. I am not used to being responsible for so many people. I must be strong and think of pa. I am so happy that I am able to send him money but I don't think he even spends it. He is such a simple man and I am so lucky to have a dad like him.
